I thought this was a super interesting idea, and it was one of the first times I willingly read a book that I knew had a love triangle.

Well, it fell flat.

The idea, while interesting enough to make me subject to the horror of a love triangle, there were a few problems.Namely, the book bored me to tears.

The writing had no spice to it, nothing to make it unique. It was very straight-forward and bland, like you were reading a lecture instead of a novel (that was supposed to be fantastic). I couldn’t bring myself to care what happened with the plot, nor what happened to the characters.

Cassia is your typical, cliche YA heroine. No personality, constantly brooding over two guys (one forbidden, and one not), and, in an attempt to make her more interesting, she’s naturally “the different one” with everything. This book was a total waste of time, and, since I knew this series had a whole bunch of hype, I decided to try out the next one. It still bored me to tears. I don’t think I’m ever going to read the third one.

The only thing that saves it from a one-star review is the world building. While the writing that describes it is bland, the world is rather fascinating.

In other news, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finale (the final scene, mostly) broke me into pieces. I responded with fanfiction, which I am now obsessively writing BECAUSE I NEED THIS CHARACTER TO BE OKAY.

Next, Mom and I are leaving for San Fransisco tomorrow. I’m pretty excited, and, cool kid like I am, I have made a list of bakeries I want to visit. If anyone has any suggestions, shout ’em out.

Illusionarium is coming out on Tuesday. EEEEEEE. Also, I completely forgot to place a hold on The Heir and so now I’m something like 341st in line, out of 25 copies. I won’t get it for years.

Finally, people keep telling me to start watching Supernatural. Should I, or should I not? All I know about it is it’s two brothers and an angel who kill demons and die a lot. And that the fandom has a GIF for everything. So, anyways, should I? Because Teen Wolf starts back up again in late June and that’s going to be heartwrenching (I read an interview), and I can only handle so much fandom stress at one time.
