Admittedly, I haven’t actually really thought about this before now, but now that I have, these duos seem like the best every and they absolutely need to write a book.
RANSOM RIGGS & TAHEREH MAFI
Come on, wouldn’t that be amazing? Ransom’s creeptastic worldbuilding and Tahereh’s antiheroes would make for a really addictive story.
A. G. HOWARD & SARAH J. MAAS
Imagine it: ruthless assassins dumped in a vivid, dark fantasy world. DOESN’T THAT SOUND AMAZING? Basically I want Celaena in Wonderland. Please, please write that crossover. It would be hilarious. And also extraordinarily painful most likely.
LISH MCBRIDE & RICK RIORDAN
Both write snarky teenaged characters who are way over their heads. Both are hilariously funny and the book would be extremely funny. And what with Lish’s crazy fantasy creatures and the way Rick can really pull on your heartstrings while make you cry from laughing so hard, it would be amazing.
MAGGIE STIEFVATER & ALLY CARTER
I don’t know why, but I just think that their writing styles would mesh super well. Maggie’s complex characters and Ally’s great settings, it would be one heck of a series.
LAUREN OLIVER & SALLY GREEN
Again, I don’t really know why, but I think their writing would just fit together well. Both write achingly real characters forced to do hard things and make hard choices. I think it would be a book that we would love and hate at the exact same time.
HEATHER DIXON & CASSANDRA CLARE
It would be a series full of steampunk-y goodness and crazy monsters (Heather’s Rivens creeped me out big time. No idea why) and awesome main characters. This would be the fantasy/steampunk thing of the century, I tell you.
JULIE KAGAWA & HOLLY BLACK
It would be a series full of creepy fairies and snarky characters and swoonable-love interests. Basically, the best thing ever. Or possibly snarky vampires.
LAINI TAYLOR & VERONICA ROTH
Laini’s achingly beautiful writing and Veronica’s complex, interesting dystopian worlds would be an awesome mix. Don’t try to argue with me on this.
DANIELLE PAIGE & A.G. HOWARD
I know I already had A. G. Howard on the list but I keep imagining a Wonderland/Oz mashup and that would be the most amazing thing EVER.
Suzanne Collins & Marissa Meyer
Suzanne’s harsh, vivid wordlbuilding and Marissa Meyer’s retellings just seems like a match made in YA heaven.
So! My list. Do you guys agree with these or do you think some of them are totally stupid? Tell me the truth! What are some of your dream author co-writing duos?
