This week I’m, once again, linking up with the folks at The Broke and the Bookish for Top Ten Tuesday. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added To My TBR. Now, I keep track of my TBR list in various different ways. There’s the physical pile(s) that take over my bedroom, my list of library holds, a list on a Word Doc., my Goodreads account, pictures of book covers on my phone, a list on a piece of paper…I’m normally a pretty organized person, but with my TBR list? Not so much. So I’m going to take a couple of books from each list.
FRONT LINES BY MICHAEL GRANT
Michael Grant is the guy who wrote the Gone series (I believe), and I power-read those within a couple of days. Although the style of writing felt a bit more MG than YA to me, I enjoyed them, and this seems like a book that will have a Peggy Carter-like character (and Peggy Carter is. awesome.), so, yeah, I’m going to read it.
SHALLOW GRAVES BY KALI WALLACE
When this book was first announced it was coming out, I thought it and another YA book, These Shallow Graves, where the same, just with different titles/covers for different countries. Nope. I was wrong. These Shallow Graves is a historical fiction/murder mystery, this one seems like it more leans toward paranormal.
THE LOVE THAT SPLIT THE WORLD BY EMILY HENRY
So, normally I run in the opposite direction from any book that has the word “love” in the title, but this is a time travel book, and as a hardcore whovian I approve of time travel. Also, y’know, I’m writing a romance so it would be kind of stupid if I refused to read romances. Plus I’m drooling over the cover.
THE WALLED CITY BY RYAN GRAUDIN
So, first of all, this book sounds like one of those books where there will be pickpockets and stabbings and a criminal underworld, which typically means a pretty epic book, but I’m also interested because apparently there used to be a real Walled City which this book was based on, which was eventually torn down. But it had a super high crime rate, and basically is the perfect place to set a book.
UNREMEMBERED BY JESSICA BRODY
This book seems like it will be interesting, if not the most original book in the world, but, hey, I’ll give it a try.
UNTITLED CAPTAIN MARVEL YA NOVEL BY SHANNON HALE & DEAN HALE
Do what this book is about, besides that it’s about Carol Danvers? No. Do I know when it’s being released? No. Am I excited about it? HECK YES.
WOLF BY WOLF BY RYAN GRAUDIN
This seems like it’s part historical fiction set during WWII, part werewolf novel, which is totally not an idea you’d expect someone to have, but now that someone’s come up with it, it sounds awesome and I totally want to read it.
THE DARKEST MINDS BY ALEXANDRA BRACKEN
I’m currently reading Passenger, also by Alexandra Bracken, and I’m enjoying it so far, and I also want to read more of what she’s written. I think The Darkest Minds was her debut, so I’m curious to see if her writing has changed since writing it.
EVERY BREATH BY ELLIE MARNEY
I don’t know much about it other than it’s a modern-day Sherlock retelling with a teenage Sherlock and Watson is a girl, but that doesn’t stop be from wanting to read it. Badly.
And, for my final book, I’m going to cheat a little bit and list off all the books that don’t have covers yet that I’ve recently added to my TBR: The Quiet Ones by Goodlett | Bright Smoke, Cold Fire by Rosamund Hodge | Long May She Reign by Rhiannon ThomasĀ | Like a River Glorious by Rae Carson | The Witch of November by Lydia Kang | and Dimple & Rishi by Sandhya Menon.
And, so, that’s my list!
Happy Tuesday,
Everyone seems to be raving about Wolf by Wolf and now I am super curious!

It seems like people really like it, yeah. And it’s such an interesting idea, too. I hope that I get to read it sooner rather than later

I hope so too, even though I am swamped with my current TBR as it is hahaha

Huge TBR are terrifying and yet you can’t help adding to then

Great list! I have a few those on my TBR, and now you’ve given me at least two more! Front Lines looks amazing!

I am glad to help your TBR list grow. And yes, Front Lines does look amazing. I just can’t figure out if it’s an AU WWII or not, because I don’t think woman were allowed to be soldiers then

Depending on the country, but for western countries, no, they did not serve on the front lines. So it is probably AU. I think it sounds great!

I just got a NetGalley email this weekend about The Love That Split the World. And it sounds so cute! I was really tempted by the time travel aspect of it. I will definitely read it at some point, but I have too many eARCs right now, I can’t get to it before the release date next week. Enjoy!

It does sound super cute, but hopefully it’s the good kind of cute, and not the somewhat stupid kind of cute. That would be annoying.

I am, too. That’s actually why I started watching Doctor Who, for the time travel element. But, sadly, YA doesn’t have a ton of time travel. ):

Have you read Timebound by Rysa Walker? I loved it. Still need to read the rest of the trilogy, but I am looking forward to the other two books. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18108877-timebound

The Darkest Minds is one of my favorite trilogies–but I’m interested to see if I’ll actually like Passenger or if I’m getting too hyped for it!

I’ll bump it up my TBR list a little bit. Maybe I’ll get it for my Kindle. And I’m not that far into Passenger, but it seems really good so far, so I have hope that will will be overall fantastic.

Oo, Every Breath looks so interesting! (So I’m mildly obsessed with anything Sherlock. . .)
The Walled City looks really good too. Especially since it’s based on a real Walled City.

I think most people are mildly obsessed with anything to do with Sherlock. He’s just so dang interesting.
I can’t remember where the actual walled city was…Japan, maybe?
