This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is Top Ten Books That You Hope Santa Will Leave Under the Tree and it’s horribly sad, but I barely ever get books as gifts from people. IT’S HORRIBLE. IT’S AWFUL. And it’s not like they even don’t know what to get me, because I talk about books on my TBR all. the. time.
Maybe they just zone out during those conversations, I don’t know.
But as revenge for not getting me books, I get THEM books that I’ve been telling them to read, and now that they own the books they basically HAVE to read them. THEY REALLY DO.
THE REST OF US JUST LIVE HERE BY PATRICK NESS
I Loved this book with a capital “L”. And now I want it in hardback so I can stroke it and force other people to read it. Plus, the cover glows in the dark! Isn’t that awesome?
SIX OF CROWS BY LEIGH BARDUGO
Gosh, I want to read this so bad. A heist set in a fantasy world sounds awesome! I was going to get it while we were in Vancouver for my birthday, but apparently it hasn’t come out there yet, which is sad. I got the Unbecoming of Maya Dyer instead. And got home to a bunch of library books that are going to expire, like, the day after Christmas, so I haven’t started it yet because I kind of want to finish this books first.
VELVET UNDERCOVER BY TERI BROWN
This one has been on my TBR list for an embarrassingly long amount of time, and yet I STILL have not gotten around to reading it. WHICH IS HORRIBLE-AWFUL BECAUSE I MUST.
SEE HOW THEY RUN BY ALLY CARTER
This one comes out today, doesn’t it? Well, I really want to read it. I didn’t understand why so many people didn’t like All Fall Down, I quite enjoyed it, and I fully expect to enjoy this one, as well (and converse with a semi-formal dress? Yeah, I’m guilty of doing that. Grace and I think alike; heels are awful).
SIMON VS. THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA BY BECKY ALBERTALLI
Remember the whole Love with a capital “L” thing? Yeah, for this one two. I adore Simon. Really, really love him. I adore this entire book and just want to hug it. Also, I enjoyed how all references to Tumblr where to “The Tumblr”, not just “Tumblr”
THE IRON WARRIOR BY JULIE KAGAWA
I waited So. Long. For this book after the cliffhanger in The Iron Traitor, but then, it came out, and I didn’t buy it. Why? Because it’s the final book in the Iron Fey series. The final book. EVER. And so I keep putting it off because I know if I don’t read it in some weird way the series ISN’T finished. But I still really want to read it.
The way I think is extremely odd.
LIFE IN OUTER SPACE BY MELISSA KEIL
Again, a book that’s been on my TBR list a loooong time, that I never got around to reading. But this book sounds extremely cute and like something I would wholeheartedly enjoy, so yep.
THE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURES OF CINNAMON GIRL BY MELISSA KEIL
I found out about this book pretty recently, and it sounds AMAZING. The main character is a baker and likes comics and basically loves the things that I love so I fully expect to love her. If I don’t I will be sad.
QUEEN OF SHADOWS BY SARAH J. MAAS
I keep hearing mixed reviews about Queen of Shadows, but, it’s a Throne of Glass novel, and I’m whole-heartedly in love with this series, so I’m still going to read it. (and love it. I will force myself to love it no matter how bad it is. I. Will. Love. It.)
HOW TO LEAD A LIFE OF CRIME BY KIRSTEN MILLER
Another Love with capital “L” book, that I MUST have in hardcover so I can pat it and stroke it and read it over and over. BECAUSE IT IS SERIOUSLY AMAZING.
And there’s my list (liiiiisst). Do we share any of the same Christmas-gift-wishes? Have you read any of the books on this list? Did you like or dislike them? Is your family on full-on OHMYGOSH CHRISTMAS IS THREE DAYS AWAY WE AREN’T REAADDDY freakout? Mine is.
Also! Giveaway has two more days left on it, and very few people have entered, so you have a fantastically huger chance of winning since there are so. few. people (hint hint). You win a free Kindle ebook. So, fun.
Happy Tuesday,
So many of those books are on my TBR. The Rest of Us Just Live Here is definitely somewhere right at the top!

Maybe because it’s not one of those books that had a lot of publicity like some other ones? But from what I’ve heard it’s good

Queen of Shadows is not bad, I have to say it’s not my favourite one of the series, but it’s enjoyable enough. Merry Christmas!

It seems like a lot of people are kind of indifferent too it. They don’t love it, they don’t hate it. It’s good, but not AS GOOD as it could have been. And Merry Christmas to you, too!

Yeah that’s exactly what I would say about it too. The last third has been really exciting though! Thanks!
